Letterboxing with a Twist

In honor of Purity Spring Resort’s 100 year celebration, a Hoyt Family History book, complete with historic photos has been created. This book incorporates the activity of Letterboxing and handmade stamps have been hidden around the resort property.

Letterboxing is an intriguing pastime combining navigational skills and rubber stamp artistry in a charming "treasure hunt" style outdoor quest – similar to geocaching, but has been around much longer! The Resort is offering Letterboxing as a new optional activity this summer.

The book includes the history of Purity Spring Resort, Camp Tohkomeupog, Camp Wampineauk, King Pine, Danforth Bay & The Bluffs. The clues on where to find the letterboxes can be found in the books. Stamps, stamp pads and the collectable books can be purchased at The Blue Heron Gift Shop located at The Mill

If you’re looking for something fun to do, or if you’re interested in reading more about the history of the Hoyt family, stop in at The Mill and ask about the Letterboxing kits.

Letterboxes can be found all over the United States and Europe. For more information on Letterboxing, visit www.letterboxing.org.
