			<title>Family-owned Purity Spring Resort to Celebrate 100 Years of Lakeside Lodging and Recreation</title>
			<link>http://www.purityspring.com/default/default.html?news_id=13&amp;module_params[name]=news&amp;module_params[mode]=default&amp;module_params[action]=detail</link>
			<description>
	East Madison, New Hampshire – April 2011
	Purity Spring Resort in East Madison, New Hampshire is celebrating 100 years of hospitality in 2011. The lakeside resort, located within the lakes region and White Mountains of New Hampshire, has been family owned since the late 1800’s and has since attracted guests throughout New England and through-out the country.

	Known for it’s abundance of four-season, outdoor recreational activities, Purity Spring Resort has long catered to families, groups and guests looking for traditional country lodging in a setting of forests, lakes, brooks and mountains. The resort property surrounds pristine Purity Lake, which offers unblemished shorelines, sandy beaches, bogs and heaths, and is adjacent to a NH Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary.

	Owned and operated by the Hoyt Family of East Madison, original founder Edward E. Hoyt operated The Hoyt Natural Mineral Spring Water Company, shipping bottled “Purity Spring Water” to Boston and New York City during the late 1800’s. A decade later, Hoyt had already begun to invite guests to his lakeside country inn before deciding in 1911 to devote more of his time to his lodging guests.

	Originally named Purity Spring Farms and Cottages, guests from around New England were attracted to the over 1,000 natural acres of fields and forests which surrounded spring-fed Purity Lake. The Hoyt Family made land preservation a priority and even during the lean years around World War I when business dropped considerably, remained focused on keeping the property intact.

	“My grandfather was devoted to keeping his land and passed on valuable lessons to my father, E. Milton Hoyt,” mentions Ted Hoyt, Senior Operator and 4th generation owner of Purity Spring.

	“People often offered my grandfather a lot of money for the lakefront property, but he refused, even though he could have used it. It was tough,” he continued, “but grand-dad always impressed upon the importance of not selling off the land, of preserving it, and keeping it intact. He wanted Purity Lake to remain one of the last undeveloped lakes in New Hampshire.”

	A weekend celebration kicks off the centennial anniversary on June 3-5, 2011 featuring loyal guests who have vacationed at Purity for generations and dignitaries from around New England.

	A schedule of the weekend-long festivities is available on the resort website, www.purityspring.com.

	Season-long activities will include numerous contests, vintage photo opportunities, stories and photos from prior guests and many theme activities for resort guests. One of the many promotions in honor of the anniversary will entail a grand prize give-away of a two-night Polar Express package drawing for any guests staying at the resort for three or more nights through October 16, 2011. A winner will be chosen on October 20, 2011 and announced on the resort website.

	Today, Purity Spring offers numerous lodging options around Purity Lake, home-style meals, and an indoor pool and fitness center. During the warmer months, guests can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, waterskiing, miles of scenic hiking and mountain biking trails, in addition to an extensive summer recreational program for kids and families. The resort’s unique lakeside setting has made it a popular site for family reunions and group gatherings, in addition to many lakeside wedding options and mountain-top ceremonies and receptions overlooking the pristine shoreline of Purity Lake below.

	During the winter season, Purity Spring owns and operates King Pine Ski Area, which will also be celebrating an anniversary next season after 50 years of business. In addition to alpine skiing and snowboarding at King Pine, Purity Spring offers snowtubing, Nordic skiing and snowshoeing around Purity Lake, ice skating and horse-drawn sleigh rides.

	The Hoyt family also owns and operates Camp Tohkomeupog, a summer boys camp celebrating 80 years in 2011; Danforth Bay Camping &amp; RV Resort, a four-season lakeside campground; The Bluffs RV Resort, a seasonal campground for active adults over 50, and Traditions Restaurant located at Purity Spring.

	Additional details of the centennial celebration, history information and photos, plus ongoing promotions can be found at www.purityspring.com or by calling (800) 373-3754.

			<title>KING PINE SKIERS &amp; RIDERS DONATE TO HAITI</title>
			<link>http://www.purityspring.com/default/default.html?news_id=2&amp;module_params[name]=news&amp;module_params[mode]=default&amp;module_params[action]=detail</link>
			<description>
	East Madison, NH – The 7.0-magnitude earthquake, which hit Haiti Tuesday, January 12, left the country in major distress and many relief organizations stepped up offering aid and supplies. Many Americans felt helpless and were left wondering how they could help.

	King Pine’s generous skiers and riders, visiting during and following the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend in January, donated over $2,000 to Haiti relief. Contributions were made while purchasing lift tickets or in donation jars placed around the resort.

	The Hoyt Family, owners and operators of Purity Spring Resort, matched and forwarded all proceeds to the Partners With Haiti organization through the Madison Baptist Church. The Madison Baptist Church Reverend, Sean Dunker-Bendigo, is on the board of directors with the Rhode Island-based, 29-year-old non-profit organization. More information about the non-profit can be found at www.PartnersWithHaiti.org.

	Bob Hoyt, Purity Spring Resort President and King Pine Ski Area General Manager, said, “We chose to donate to Partners With Haiti because many locals are involved with this organization and 100% of our donated funds went towards relief aid in Haiti, which we felt was how our customers would like their donations distributed.” Bob continued to point out that, “So many people wanted to do something, but didn’t know how or where to start. We provided a place for people to make a monetary donation and we felt that it was the right thing to do by matching 100% of every dollar received.”

	King Pine’s very generous guests raised over $2,000 and the Hoyt Family matched $2,000, totaling $4,264 donated to Partners With Haiti.

	The mountain will continue to accept cash or check donations made out to “Partners With Haiti” and will forward collections to the Madison Church. You do not need to purchase a lift ticket to donate to the organization. King Pine, Purity Spring and the Hoyt Family thank all who have donated.

	King Pine and Purity Spring Resort, located on Route 153 in East Madison, NH, are owned and operated by The Hoyt Family and have welcomed guests since the early 1900’s. Additional information can be found by calling (800) 373-3754.

			<title>LONGEST RUNNING SKI CAMP IN THE COUNTRY ADDS A SECOND WEEK</title>
			<link>http://www.purityspring.com/default/default.html?news_id=4&amp;module_params[name]=news&amp;module_params[mode]=default&amp;module_params[action]=detail</link>
			<description>
	East Madison, NH (February 4, 2010) – King Pine Ski Area at Purity Spring Resort will offer its 72nd Ski and Snowboard Camp this February 2010 for boys and girls.

	The Ski &amp; Snowboard Camp offers an exciting atmosphere for “ski campers” age 8-16 and provides the opportunity to learn to ski or ride in a safe and family-friendly atmosphere. Held during the February President’s Day vacation week, February 15-21, the camp continues a tradition that began long ago at Purity Spring Resort. New this year is an added second week of camp for boys and girls running February 21-26. The addition of a second week of camp allows children from across New England the opportunity to attend during different school vacation weeks.

	In 1938, owner of Purity Spring, Edward Milton Hoyt, installed a rope tow near Bald Ledge on the resort property. The next Christmas, “Milt” invited a small group of students to the Inn during the vacation break to experience the relatively new sport of skiing. A new tradition began and continues today with over 100 campers annually.

	The Ski &amp; Snowboard Camp staff is a mixture of college students and parents, interested in providing the campers with a fun week of learning and activities. Year after year, campers travel from all over New England and as far south as North Carolina to enjoy camp. They come to ski, board, skate, swim, tube, dance, laugh and learn together.

	On the slopes, campers are split into ski and snowboard classes based upon ability, ranging from beginner to advanced. Classes are held twice daily and are geared towards success, with safety always in mind. With 100% of the mountain open and outstanding snow conditions, King Pine has variety of terrain to satisfy all levels of confidence and every particular whim.

			<description>
	East Madison, New Hampshire – King Pine Ski Area and Purity Spring Resort now offer chairlift-serviced mountaintop wedding ceremonies and receptions.

	Purity Spring Resort, located between the Lakes Region and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, is situated on 1,000 acres of property nestled around pristine Purity Lake and family-friendly King Pine Ski Area. The property has been owned and operated by the Hoyt family since the late 1800’s and has remained mostly undeveloped and natural.

	Purity Spring has offered mountaintop ceremonies for years, by shuttling guests to the summit of King Pine, but never before has operated the chairlift in the summertime nor has had the capabilities of holding full dinner receptions atop the mountain. Over three months of work went into improvements and landscape changes on the summit of King Pine; leveling ground and laying fill, landscaping, creating safe foot traffic exit ramps off the chairlift, painting summit buildings, laying in-ground electricity, building a remote kitchen facility and other special details.

	The summit of King Pine now has a level plane large enough for a 40 by 60 foot wedding tent capable of hosting 100 guests. The kitchen staff are able to prepare and serve a complete dinner from the top of the mountain with the addition of a portable kitchen facility.

	King Pine’s mountaintop is just one of the many unique wedding locations around Purity Spring’s 1,000 acre property. From the summit of King Pine to the shores of Purity Lake and Purity Island, indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception options are boundless. In addition, Purity Spring&apos;s Green Weddings are a great way to make a wedding celebration unique and meaningful while showing friends and family just how fun, beautiful and delicious a sustainable lifestyle can be.
