Purity Spring Resort has been hosting quilting retreats for many years.
With comfortable lodging, homemade meals & plenty of space to sew, what could be better ??
Laurel Wilbur, our quilting hostess, will be doing a tutorial workshop on stack n' whack quilts and oversee an "open sew" format. The amount of fabric needed depends on the length of the repeat of the fabric. You will multiply the repeat inches by 8 and divide by 36... this will tell you how many yards you need (round up). Usually between 3 1/2 + 6 1/2 yards. You will also need one of Bethany Reynolds books: StacknWhackipedia, Magic Stack n' Whack or Stack n' Whackier. Laurel will have some copies with her to sell, if you do not have one. A quilt shop will be set up with a variety of products, books, kits and fabrics throughout the weekend.
The sky is the limit for what projects you decide to work on. Bring a variety of projects and get a head start on those Christmas gifts. You will be amazed at all you will learn & accomplish.
This quilting weekend is limited to 50 participants, so that each quilter has plenty of workspace, etc.
