Purity Spring COVID-19 Updates

April 28, 2020

(Please note, the letter below only pertains to Purity Spring Resort lodging operations, Traditions Restaurant & Pub and The Mill Pool & Fitness as indicated. Any updates regarding Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort and Tohkomeupog Summer Camp for Boys opening this summer will be shared directly from those businesses via email, their website or shared via their social media accounts.)

To Our Purity Spring Resort Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. The impact of COVID-19 has been wide-reaching and particularly devastating to the hospitality industry. Many businesses are being forced to adapt; Purity Spring Resort included.

Knowing this and anticipating COVID-19 related orders, guidelines and recommendations forthcoming, we will be taking immediate action to ensure the future of Purity Spring Resort, as well as the other Hoyt family businesses, including Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, Tohkomeupog Summer Camp for Boys, and King Pine Ski Area.

Due to current state government restrictions, we are adapting our lodging, restaurant, and activities operations at Purity Spring Resort effective June 1, 2020.

  • All existing reservations beginning June 1, 2020 through September 7, 2020 will be cancelled. Any deposits paid will be refunded. However, these guests will be given the opportunity to rebook (see next bullet point).

  • New reservations will be accepted for standalone units. For more details, please visit our website (www.purityspring.com/lodging) or call our Reservations office at 800-373-3754. Please note that at this time we are currently only taking reservations over the phone.

  • Traditions Restaurant & Pub is currently closed due to state restrictions on indoor dining and will remain closed.

  • The Mill Pool & Fitness Center is currently closed and will remain closed indefinitely.

  • Seasonal recreation activities and other unique experiences will be offered to guests on a limited basis, as allowed by state restrictions. Please inquire for more details when making a reservation.

The health and safety of our guests and employees remains our top priority. Despite these necessary restrictions in the short-term, we know family vacations at Purity Spring Resort have been a tradition for generations. Although “Lake Life as it should be” will certainly look different this summer than it has before, our goal with the above changes is to provide as much of the resort experience you have previously enjoyed, while prioritizing health and safety for all. As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, we will keep you informed with any further updates.

These are undoubtedly challenging times for all of us; but, over the course of its 109-year history, Purity Spring Resort has endured challenging times before, including two world wars and economic downturns, like the Great Depression. The Hoyt Family remains committed to offering family-friendly accommodations within our pristine natural surroundings, as we have done for generations. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Stay safe and be well,

The Hoyt Family
